Moto G5 Plus Review: Premium Smartphone with Affordable Price tag

After reviewing Moto G5 Plus we are sure that this phone will break all the sales record till now on Moto G Series. For Rs.16,999 its a Beast Smartphone with all the latest feature. Before getting Moto G5 Plus we too were very excited to have a look at the Moto G5 Plus. With out wasting time lets get into the Moto G5 Plus review.

Moto G5 Plus is the latest Smartphone in the Moto G series, along with Moto G Plus Motorola (Lenovo) had launched Moto G5 also which is the lower version of Moto G5 Plus. This phone was first unveiled at MWC 2017 (Mobile World Congress 2017). The main difference between Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5 is the screen size.

Moto G5 Plus is the first Smartphone in Moto G series with a metal body, all the previous versions were having plastic body. The metal body gives a premium look to the smartphone. Lenovo has again proved that they can keep the price of the phone competitive which will help them to sell Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5 like hot cakes.

Moto G5 Plus have a solid aluminium finish and easy to hold. The phone weights 155 grams. This smartphone comes with a Water-Repellent Nano coating which can resist water. This gives a edge aganist their competitors in this price range.

Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2 inch Full-HD (1080p) IPS LCD Display screen. For scratch resistance it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Graphics PPI for this full HD screen is 424 PPI, which will give you a cristal clear display. The screen is good enough for watching movies and videos. Brightness level on Moto G5 Plus is good enough for outdoor use.

The phone is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor (MSM8953 Processor). The Moto G5 Plus comes in 2 variants one with 3GB of RAM and 16 GB ROM and another with 4GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, priced at Rs.14,999 and Rs.16,999 respectively. Both the phones supports microSD card upto 128GB, you will never run out of storage.

This is the first smartphone in India to run Android 7 in this price bracket out of the box. In our review we were not able to find Google Assistant on this latest smartphone, its still on the old Google Now.

This Smartphone will not disappoint you in terms of performance, its running very smooth on stock Android. It is able to handle multi tasking with out any sweat. We tried paying few heavy games and its performing with out any lag.

What disappointed us is the bundled earphone which is under-powered and below the average quality level. To get most out of this Moto G5 Plus you may need to buy a third party earphone.

The Moto G5 Plus supports the dual nano sim card along with micro SD card. This also gives a edge to Moto G5 Plus against their competitor. When we tried the GPS navigation, after more than 30 minutes, the phone was really hot to handle. Moto may need to push a software update to solve this heating issue. We didn't experience any major heating issue when we played few heavy games for more than 30 mins in our review.

When it comes to camera Moto G5 Plus comes with a 12-Megapixel Rear Camera with dual auto focus, which can record up-to 3840 x 2160 pixel video in 30fps. The front camera is 5 megapixel which is also gives amazing selfies. The primary camera features Dual Auto-focus Pixels, f/1.7 Aperture, Color Balancing Dual LED Flash, 8X Digital Zoom for Photos, 4X for Video, Drag to Focus and Exposure. The front camera features Wide-angle Lens, f/2.2 Aperture, Display Flash, Professional Mode, Beautification Mode for better selfies.
