Oman host Netherlands in ICC CWC League 2 Match 144 at Dubai on November 2

Oman face the Netherlands in Match 144 of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 on November 2 at the ICC Academy in Dubai, and the Netherlands have won the toss and chosen to field against the hosts.

Both sides have met in this League 2 cycle at the same ground within days of each other. Their previous 50-over encounter, Match 141, was played at the ICC Academy on October 27, with Oman electing to field in that game. The pitch and conditions in Dubai mean toss results have shaped both fixtures, and at the start of the November 2 match Oman were yet to face a single delivery.

How to watch and when it starts

Indian fans can follow the game on FanCode, which carries the live stream of League 2 encounters between these two sides. NDTV Profit has published a guide covering the match timing, venue, squads, and streaming details for India. The match was listed as a day fixture in Dubai, with both teams using the same home base for their preparations in the tournament.Pre-match coverage has focused on the qualification stakes rather than just the rivalry. The Hindustan Times reported that Oman’s win over the Netherlands in an earlier T20I meeting tightened the League 2 race, with two points separating the top five teams at the point when a third of the 2023-27 cycle had been completed. That narrow gap is the backdrop to every fixture in this stage of the tournament.

Those results sit in a busy recent history between the two countries. The Netherlands toured Oman for a three-match T20I series that began on November 13, with all three matches staged in Oman. Oman won the opening game of that series, according to reports on the second match’s streaming schedule. The sides will now meet again in the 50-over format, where the points table carries far more weight than in a bilateral T20I set.

Prediction and preview pieces ahead of the game have broken down squad balance, recent form, and the key players for both sides. The Netherlands have relied on their European core in League 2, while Oman have built a side around experience gained in Gulf cricket conditions. Both teams have treated the Dubai leg of the League 2 calendar as a critical run of fixtures, given how tightly packed the top of the table has become.

What this result will do is decide who banks two points in a tournament where, as the Hindustan Times pointed out, two points already separate the top five sides with only a third of the cycle behind them. There is no dead rubber here. Both teams know a win keeps them inside the qualifying group and a loss likely closes the door, at least in practical terms.

The next League 2 fixture between the same opposition comes after the World Cup qualifiers calendar fills in, but the November 2 game is the one that matters now. Oman start the match at 0/0 with the Netherlands putting them in. Broadcast details for India remain available on FanCode, and the toss has put the tourists in charge of the first session.
