Opn Announces Appointment of Former Apple Executive Chris Misner to Board of Directors

TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Opn, the one-stop payment solutions company from Japan and Southeast Asia, announced today that Chris Misner, the former Apple Inc. (�Apple”) and Roblox Corporation (“Roblox”) executive, has joined Opn’s board of directors.

Misner recently served as President of Roblox International, where he expanded the online platform from US-focused in English-only to a global presence in all the major languages. Prior to that, he served as General Manager of Asia Pacific of Apple Online Store, where during his tenure he led Apple’s e-commerce business to more than 100x growth across the region, catapulting it to one of the world’s largest online retailers.

He began his career at Netscape Communications Corporation and also held executive roles at venture-funded startups Backflip, Inc. and Good Technology, Inc.

Opn’s other external directors include representatives from Toyota Financial Services Corporation, the financial services arm of Toyota Motor Corporation, and SCB 10x, the venture capital arm of Siam Commercial Bank.

Opn last month announced the rebrand of parent company SYNQA Co., Ltd. to Opn, together with a USD 120M in Series C+ funding from JIC Venture Growth Investments Co., Ltd., MUFG Bank, Ltd. and Mars Growth Capital.
