Rajasthan United FC secured their first points of the Indian Football League 2026-27 season on November 7, snatching a dramatic late win against two-time champions Gokulam Kerala FC at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur. The result gave host head coach Giuseppe Cristaldi his first victory of the new campaign after opening the season with a defeat.
The encounter between Rajasthan United and Gokulam Kerala was the focal point of Saturday’s fixtures in Jaipur, where the home side hosted their second consecutive match of the competition. Gokulam Kerala arrived in Rajasthan attempting to extend their strong start following an opening-weekend victory, but the hosts held their ground through a tightly contested match before striking late to take all three points.
Entering the match at Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium, Cristaldi’s side faced heavy pressure after failing to collect any points on matchday one. Playing in front of their home crowd for the second time this season, Rajasthan United managed to blunt Gokulam Kerala’s attack throughout the ninety minutes.
Gokulam Kerala, who brought the pedigree of two previous league titles into the fixture, were unable to capitalize on their opening-day momentum. Instead, a late breakthrough allowed Rajasthan United to turn the match on its head and seal a memorable victory in front of their supporters.
Saturday’s action formed part of a wider double-header across the Indian Football League. While Rajasthan United battled Gokulam Kerala in Jaipur, Real Kashmir FC hosted Sreenidi Deccan FC in another high-stakes matchday two clash.
Much like Rajasthan United, Real Kashmir went into Saturday’s match searching for their first points of the 2026-27 season after dropping their opener. Sreenidi Deccan, meanwhile, aimed to build on their opening-day victory and maintain their winning form on the road.
Elsewhere in recent IFL action, Dempo SC earned their first victory of the season with a convincing 3-0 win over Shillong Lajong. The three-goal margin helped Dempo kickstart their campaign after an uncertain start to the league calendar.
The combination of Dempo’s dominant win and Rajasthan United’s late heroics against Gokulam Kerala has set up a tightly packed table early in the IFL 2026-27 season, with several clubs quickly adjusting their strategies after the opening two rounds of action.
