Room to Read Appoints Stanley Hainsworth and Tomoya Masanao to Global Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Room to Read, a leading global education organization focused on children’s literacy and girls’ education, today announced the appointment of Stanley Hainsworth and Tomoya Masanao to its global board of directors.

Stanley Hainsworth is Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Tether, a storytelling juggernaut creating branding, design and advertising for a diverse range of clients including Tatcha, BMW Motorrad, Pepsi, Under Armour, Microsoft, Amazon, and Gatorade. Stanley is an expert in the art of brand story craft and has served as Creative Director at Nike, and Global Creative Director at Lego and Starbucks. Since 2022, Hainsworth has been working closely with Room to Read and leading the organization’s brand identity exploration to more boldly reflect its girls’ education and gender equality portfolio.

Tomoya Masanao is Managing Director and co-head of Asia-Pacific portfolio management of investment firm PIMCO. Tomoya co-oversees the portfolio management teams in the Asia-Pacific region and manages clients’ assets. Prior to joining PIMCO, Tomoya was an executive director and senior portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and previously was employed with The Sumitomo Bank (currently known as SMBC). Tomoya has been a member of Room to Read’s Japan regional board of directors since 2017, alongside his wife Yuri Masanao. He has served as co-chair of the regional board since 2019.
