Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor reopen home life on Koffee With Karan 9

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor returned together to Koffee With Karan Season 9 in Episode 4, their first joint appearance on the show in 16 years. The episode moved from a household rule in the Kareena Kapoor home to the night Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at their Mumbai home.

Saif Ali Khan said Kareena Kapoor does not talk after 10 pm; she calls the cutoff her me time. The same conversation praised Kareena Kapoor as a stepmother, recalled Saif Ali Khan’s children from his first marriage, and retold the stabbing night.

The return, with dates and clothes

Bollywood Hungama reported the couple’s return to Koffee With Karan Season 9 after 16 years, and Outlook India traced their earlier appearance together to 2010. News18 described this arrival differently: the couple came in hand in hand, with Kareena Kapoor in scarlet Ralph Lauren and Saif Ali Khan in pinstripes.

The Hindustan Times ranked every Kareena Kapoor look on Koffee With Karan, from the pink halter mini in 2004 to the red Ralph Lauren power suit that closed the final season in 2026. The contrast works as a bracket: the 2004 look is the list’s starting point, the 2026 suit is its endpoint, and the pinstripe-and-scarlet arrival belongs to the season that ends the list. Those are two sourced timelines of the same show, one by single-episode arrival and one by ranked look.

After 10 pm, silence

Saif Ali Khan’s phrasing was blunt: Kareena Kapoor doesn’t talk after that. Her answer was her own: “That’s my me time.” The detail sits against the rest of the episode because the same broadcast asked Kareena Kapoor to recount a night when a household rule did not apply. Saif Ali Khan had been attacked with a knife at home, and the conversation around the 10 pm cutoff was immediately followed by the account of that emergency.

A blended family

Times Now reported that Saif Ali Khan credits Kareena Kapoor with the easy and wonderful bond he has with Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, calling her the coolest stepmother. It identified Sara and Ibrahim as Saif Ali Khan’s children from his first marriage. The Times of India reported that Ibrahim Ali Khan sang Kareena Kapoor’s praises during the Koffee With Karan appearance. The two credits point at the same family arrangement from different seats: Saif Ali Khan describes the stepmother’s effect from the marriage, Ibrahim Ali Khan describes it from the sibling side.

The night Saif was stabbed

ThePrint carried the pair recalling the knife attack, including the child’s question: “Abba, are you going to die?” FilmiBeat and Filmfare reported Kareena Kapoor’s account of the same night. She said she was screaming on the road.

India Today’s report contains three concrete actions: Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at home, Kareena Kapoor rushed him to hospital, and she ran onto the road in her night T-shirt. Those details line up with the shorter version in FilmiBeat, where her words were: “I was screaming on the road.” The sequence is the emergency under the quieter 10 pm rule: a rule about stopping conversation, then a night Kareena Kapoor spent shouting for help outside the house in a night T-shirt.

The episode therefore held two kinds of disclosure with very different volume: a post-10 pm cutoff, and a roadside scream after a stabbing at the same home. None of the reports gives a broadcast date for another joint appearance on Koffee With Karan.
