Siemens Returns as Platinum Sponsor at Future Energy East Africa in Nairobi Next Week

Siemens is a longstanding partner of the Future Energy East Africa conference and exhibition and this years returning platinum sponsor at the 20th edition taking place in Nairobi from 12-13 September.

Nairobi, Kenya, September 06, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Were moving away from a system of centrally generated electricity to an energy network with many different players, all of which have to be controlled. Without digitalization, theres no chance it can function. This is according to Johan Helberg, the Siemens Country Manager for Kenya. He adds: digitalization makes the technical systems intelligent, enabling data to be captured, linked to the IoT with cloud-based operating systems like MindSphere, and processed to optimize operations and ensure the stability of the entire energy system.

Siemens is a longstanding partner of the Future Energy East Africa conference and exhibition and this years returning platinum sponsor at the 20th edition taking place in Nairobi from 12-13 September. This is our key energy event in East Africa on an annual basis, says Johan Helberg, and it fits well with and supports all our other initiatives in bringing the Siemens excellence into the region, making real what matters.

East African region important to Siemens
The East African region that Siemens serves is important to us, says Johan Helberg, we focus on nine countries with Siemens offices in five of these East African countries with our East African hub head quarter in Ethiopia.

Siemens will showcase and discuss its IoT and Digitalization portfolio at Future Energy East Africa. Earlier this year, the company won the African Utility Week Industry Award for Digital Utility of the Year.

For Siemens, thanks to digitalization, says Johan Helberg, all assets in a modern digital substation can be monitored for their maintenance and service needs. With this asset management system, the operator always knows the answer to the question: Is my system technically and economically in order?.
