The Election Commission of India today announced the schedule for assembly elections in West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Date: May 16th, 2016. (Monday)

Total Voters in Tamil Nadu: 5.8 crore

Total Seats: 232 seats

Tamil Nadu will have a single day polling for the Assembly Elections 2016.

Puducherry assembly elections: Polling on May 16, 2016 (same as Kerala and Tamil Nadu)

Elections in Tamil Nadu are conducted every five years to elect the State assembly and its share of members to the Lok Sabha. There are 234 assembly constituencies and 39 Lok Sabha constituencies. The state has conducted 14 assembly elections and 15 Lok Sabha elections since independence.
