Vivekanand Flyover collapse in Kolkata Live: Army deployed, Mamata Banerjee at spot

In a shocking incident today under construction�Vivekanand Flyover collapse in Kolkata. More than 15 people died and more than 150 people is trapped under.

Army had been called and deployed, Army has already deployed 4 columns of rescue personnel. There are three medical teams. Two ambulances, surgeons and nursing assistants are in each team. More Army teams are on the way to the spot.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also reached at the spot where the Flyover collapsed. The accident happened at under-construction bridge collapsed near Ganesh Talkies in Kolkata.

Senior TMC leader and Rajya Sabha member Derek O’Brien expressed his grief over the lives lost in flyover collapse. Many taxi’s and people are still trapped under.

According to India Today TV report, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has spoken to NDRF DG. CRPF personnel have also joined the rescue operations.

Several passenger vehicles, including a bus, were trapped under the debris, as operations were on to clear the rubble and bring out those trapped under.

Huge cranes and other rescue vehicles were pressed into service to clear the debris and bring out the injured.
