Vodafone launches 4G service in Mumbai: Get Free upgrades to 4G

Vodafone launches 4G Service in Mumbai. This is the second 4G Service launch in Mumbai. First operator to launch 4G service in Mumbai was Airtel in month of July 2015.

Vodafone Customers can upgrade to 4G SIMs at their convenience at 56 Vodafone stores across Mumbai. To avail 4G services, customers will need to have a 4G-enabled handset and a new 4G-Ready SIM card. To ensure a smooth and seamless exchange of 4G-ready SIMs, these are being made available in advance of the commercial launch of Vodafone�s 4G services in Mumbai. Customers can walk into any nearby Vodafone store and get their 4G-ready SIM with a hassle free exchange process. With the new 4G-ready SIM, they will continue to enjoy uninterrupted mobile internet experience as per their existing plans.

The operator also said it will offer free upgrades to 4G and extra data for Vodafone Red customers for a month.

Initial response from customers who have experienced our 4G services in Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata and Delhi & NCR has been positive and encouraging,” Sunil Sood, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone India said.

Built on the efficient 1800 MHz band, this network will enable Vodafone 4G customers to access internet via mobile with speeds across a range of smart devices including Mobile Wi-Fi & dongles. Vodafone 4G services can be readily accessed from 4G enabled handsets offered by leading smartphone manufacturers available across the country.

With this launch, Vodafone said that it is now uniquely positioned to offer in Mumbai, 2G/3G/4G services on its own state of the art, convergent radio technology.
