If you feel constantly exhausted, experience headaches or have high blood pressure, which could be the result of snoring right.
More than just a nuisance, snoring is also the most common symptom of a potentially serious health problems apnea sleep (AOS).
More than 18 million Americans snore, and that is related to OSA. People suffering from OSA repeatedly and unknowingly stop breathing during the night due to a complete or partial obstruction of the airways. It occurs when the muscles of the jaw, throat and tongue relax, blocking the airway used to breathe. The resulting lack of oxygen may last a minute or longer, and occur hundreds of times each night.
OSA has been associated with:
Acid reflux
frequent nighttime urination
Memory loss
knock
depression
diabetes
heart attack
Consistent lack of sleep
People over 35 are most at risk. AOS can be expensive to diagnose and treat – up to $ 5,000 – and treatments can sometimes be quite painful. Also, they are not always covered by insurance.
However, a recent study published by the Division of Sleep Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School concluded that the use of a simple cheek while sleeping can be an effective treatment for OSA.
