Agni Kandakarnan Theyyam Performing at Thrissur

Agni kandakarnan theyyam at sri Kaitheri puthiyedathu Kandakarna kshethram located at Venduttayi near Pinarayi located in Kannur district of Kerala,
the southern state of India.

Theyyam or thirayatam is a vibrent malabari ritual dance perfomed in kannur and kasaragod districts from November to May every year.
In this video you can see the theyyam Agnikandakarnan is dancing with 16 fire lamps and long hair called “thiru mudi”.
This theyyam’s backdrop includes eight Chendas,two Drums, two elathalams and two Kuzhals.
