He meets with Senior Inspector Marcus Campbell, and the case takes on a life of its own, filling in the empty time while his wife Rose is away. The investigation goes on until it takes another turn when Marcus gets partnered with Senior Inspector Grace Scott and his many protestations of being a career bachelor crash in around him. On another note, main man Lieb lands on another case, one that is too far too close to home and one that will earn him the nickname The Iceman.

Kings piece of work evidently describes the kind of life that the people working within law enforcement live. It uncloaks the danger, the trouble, and even the roller coaster of emotions as their personal lives eventually get involved and dragged into their cases as well as when the time comes for them to break the bad news to the family members of the victims. While the book highlights the struggles encountered by each of the characters, it also discloses the success that they attain as they get to resolve every case that they land on. Viktoria Kings novel is definitely one of the few sources that will make the readers ask for more as they flip every page. It is undeniably hard to put down!
