Delaware Creative Entrepreneur Gifts Crocheted Neck Warmers at GBK 2018 Golden Globes Luxury Lounge

Surprise Designer showcased and gifted its handcrafted crocheted scarves to celebrities at GBK’s 2018 Golden Globes Luxury Lounge.

The gift lounge took place January 5-6, 2018 at an exclusive location in Los Angeles, California.

Surprise Designer had showcased on display at The Artisan Group exhibit, a selection of its signature handcrafted scarves, in dark, light, and neutral hues. Each scarf was crocheted by Surprise Designer founder Leslie D. Tucker.

Celebrities stopping by The Artisan Group’s display will find their own Surprise Designer Scarf in the Artisan Group’s coveted black swag bag. The scarves, which Leslie has crocheted in an array of fashion-forward colors, are packaged in a canvas zipper bag that can be upcycled for use as a makeup bag or to hold small essentials like keys and cell phone.

“These lacy scarves are lightweight and stylish,” said Leslie. “The colors, like Calming Desert, are timeless but on trend and the scarves are long enough to be styled several ways. Plus, the non-wool yarn is soft and will not irritate sensitive skin.”

Surprise Designer has participated in GBK’s Luxury Celebrity Gift Lounges for the MTV Movie Awards and the Emmys, and will be participating in their gift lounge for the Oscars in March. Leslie has gifted her designs to actress Stephanie Drapeau and to the costume designers for consideration of use on popular television shows such as “This is Us,” “The Goldbergs,” “The Mick,” “Crashing,” and “Empire.”

In addition to running Surprise Designer, Leslie is a mom, lunch lady, and professional baker. She is a member of The Newark Arts Alliance and teaches crochet classes there. She is a leader for the business networking group for moms, BAM (Business Among Moms) and a member of the juried, by-invitation-only The Artisan Group, an arts promotion group that focuses on spreading the word about the handcrafted movement.
