Television actor Anuj Thakur passed away on October 27 after suffering a seizure in his sleep. He was 33 years old. The actor was found unresponsive at his residence after failing to wake up to his regular morning alarm.

The sudden passing of Anuj Thakur has sent shockwaves through the Hindi television industry, where he had worked across popular daily soaps and youth shows.

Mother found actor after 4:30 AM alarm

Thakur maintained a strict personal routine, setting his alarm for 4:30 AM every morning to go for a jog. On October 27, the alarm went off as scheduled, but he did not get up to turn it off.

Noticing that he had not woken up despite the ringing alarm, his mother entered his bedroom to check on him. She discovered him lying motionless in bed. Medical assistance was summoned, but he was declared dead. Doctors and family acquaintances subsequently confirmed that he suffered a fatal seizure while asleep during the early morning hours.

Casting director details last meeting and comeback plans

Casting director Rupesh Sonar, a close friend of the actor, formally confirmed the news through an emotional tribute on Instagram. Sonar noted that Thakur passed away quietly in his sleep without showing prior signs of distress.

Sonar revealed that he had met Thakur just 10 days before the incident. During their interaction, the actor discussed his routine, health, and upcoming professional moves. He was actively preparing to make a formal comeback to television acting and was reviewing potential scripts and roles.

Sonar expressed grief over the loss, stating that Thakur simply did not wake up that morning. The news prompted a wave of tributes from fellow actors, directors, and crew members who had worked alongside him in television productions.

Career across Dhoom Machao Dhoom and daily soaps

Thakur established his presence in Indian television through roles in youth-centric programs and prime-time daily dramas. He earned early visibility with his performance in the Disney Channel series Dhoom Machao Dhoom.

He subsequently built his screen credit list with featured roles in major prime-time serials. His television portfolio included key parts in Bandhan Saat Janamon Ka, the Imagine TV drama Beendh Banoonga Ghodi Chadunga, and the comedy series Mahisagar.

Prior to his death, Thakur had recently returned from a trip to South Africa. His final Instagram post, which showcased moments from his South Africa visit, began circulating widely among fans after news of his passing broke. Colleagues and viewers flooded his social media page with condolences, remembering his television work and expressing shock over his untimely death at 33.
