Hero MotoCorp has officially unveiled the production-spec Hero Xpulse 450 at EICMA 2026, debuting a brand-new 421cc single-cylinder engine designed for off-roading and high-speed touring. The motorcycle transfers Hero’s Dakar rally experience to a road-legal adventure machine, generating 46.6 PS (46 bhp) at 9,100 rpm and 38 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm.
Positioned as the largest and most powerful model in the Xpulse lineup, the Xpulse 450 steps up significantly beyond the Xpulse 210 in both displacement and mechanical spec. Industry estimates put the expected Indian market launch around February 2027, with pricing projected between ₹2.85 lakh and ₹3 lakh.
At the center of the bike is a 421cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine built specifically to deliver strong mid-range torque and top-end performance across difficult terrain. The engine output represents a major leap for Hero MotoCorp in the mid-capacity adventure category, allowing the brand to target long-distance touring and off-road riders in India and international markets.
Hero has built the motorcycle around a rally-inspired architecture, drawing design elements and chassis lessons straight from its factory team’s Dakar Rally experience. The chassis setup features fully adjustable front and rear suspension, giving riders precise control over preload, compression, and rebound damping depending on terrain conditions.
For wheel hardware, Hero has fitted the production bike with cross-spoke tubeless wheels. This layout allows riders to run tubeless adventure tyres, lowering the risk of sudden deflations during highway runs while retaining the impact absorption offered by spoked wheels over sharp rocks and trails.
Electronic aids include four distinct ride modes tailored for varied surface conditions, along with a multi-stage traction control system. Riders can alter throttle response and safety interventions based on whether they are traveling across mud, wet asphalt, loose gravel, or clear tarmac.
The motorcycle introduces advanced connectivity features in the single-cylinder adventure segment. Hero has integrated full support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay into the instrument cluster, allowing direct mirroring of smartphone navigation, music playback, and incoming call alerts on the digital display.
This integrated navigation setup eliminates the need for external phone mounts on the handlebar. The cockpit ergonomics feature a tall windscreen, high-set wide handlebars, and an upright riding posture tailored for extended hours in the saddle.
Carandbike reported that the production model shown in Milan retains the sharp, hard-enduro lines shown in early concepts. The styling includes a high-mounted front rally beak, broad fuel tank shrouds, and a slim tail section that keeps weight centered while offering high ground clearance.
Hero MotoCorp plans to officially bring the new adventure motorcycle to Indian dealerships in 2027, with full commercial availability expected by February 2027. ZigWheels estimates the ex-showroom price will land between ₹2.85 lakh and ₹3 lakh.
That pricing target places the bike squarely in competition with established mid-size adventure motorcycles sold in India. Key rivals include:
With its 46.6 PS power figure, the Xpulse 450 sits comfortably near the top of the single-cylinder performance bracket, offering dirt-focused chassis hardware paired with daily usability features.
The global debut took place during EICMA 2026 in Milan, where Hero MotoCorp celebrated 25 years of global leadership. Alongside the 421cc adventure flagship, Hero showcased the Harley-Davidson X350T, confirmed the start of European operations for its VIDA electric scooter brand, and announced the launch of Novus Labs, its new global innovation hub.
The 2026 edition of the Milan show hosted several high-profile world premieres, including the Royal Enfield Himalayan 750, Harley-Davidson Sprint 440, Suzuki GSX-10R, and the new Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. Hero’s immediate priority for Indian enthusiasts remains completing final validation testing on the 421cc engine before showroom deliveries begin in 2027.
