The International Hairitage Awards will not only be an evening for celebrating the artistry of some of the world’s most talented natural hair, barber, and makeup professionals, but an evening that serves important purpose for consumers as well. Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal before the ceremony, and all-night dancing after the awards.

Ramsey spoke of the genesis of the awards show. “As an international educator, I’ve met many talented natural stylists from several countries who may not be able to participate in natural hair styling competitions which usually take place at trade shows. I thought, ‘Why not have natural stylists submit photos online?’ It’s time to expand the recognition of the versatility and ability of natural hair stylists.”

Hair professionals, everywhere are eligible to participate in the International Hairitage Awards. An international judging committee ensures that participants are scored appropriately on skill set, technique, and creativity.

Participants will be recognized in 10 fields of excellence.

Among the categories for the 2016 International Hairitage Awards are Braid Stylist of the Year; Barber of the Year; Colorist of the Year; Makeup Artist of the Year; Childrens Stylist of the Year; Natural Stylist of the Year; Loc Stylist of the Year and Teen Stylist of the Year.
