About the Author
Laks Arkay has been working as a schoolteacher for many years and currently works in a primary school in Berkshire. She was born in India and she moved to the UK in the 1990s. She is from West London but now lives in Surrey with her husband, daughter and her dog Gizmo. She has also lived in West Africa where she had an opportunity to interact with and handle numerous exotic animals.

Laks loves photography, travelling and of course reading. What started off as a small pile of children’s books several years ago has now turned into a little children’s library in her home and Laks frequently reads them to keep herself amused. She loves all animals and she would love to have a house full of them. Her family, close friends and the children in class inspire, encourage and keep her entertained all the time.

Throwing clay and learning to make ceramic pots has created another channel for Laks to express her love for art. Astronomy and stargazing are her passions and she often waits for a clear night sky to see the stars and planets through her telescope. Her two dogs, Jasper and Gizmo, were her companions during those special nights. On one of those nights she got the inspiration to write this book.
