Micromax launched 4G VoLTE enabled Canvas 5 Lite for Rs.6,499

Micromax in a recent launch event launched a 4G VoLTE enabled smartphone Micromax Canvas 5 Lite for Rs.6,499. This handset is powered by a MediaTek quad core processor and running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. The Android version is disappointing for this phone in this price range. I still wonder as the why Smartphone still launch a phone with Android 5.1 when Android 7 is the trend, does they want their buyers to go back use the basic Android version first or they don’t want to sell their smartphones.

In terms of specification Canvas 5 Lite is a dual SIM handset with dual standby running on outdated Android 5.1 (Lollipop). Its powered by a MT6735 quad core chipset from MediaTek clocked at 1GHz with Mali T720 GPU. This handset comes with a 5 inch IPS display screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Canvas 5 Lite is equipped with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM/internal storage. Out of 16GB user will be able to use 12GB. unfortunately there is no external micro-sd card support.

What excite me me the lite weight of the Micromax Canvas 5 Lite, the handset is just 125 grams, but thickness is at higher end which is 11.75mm.

When it comes to camera the rear camera is 8MP resolution with auto focus with flash support and front camera is 5MP resolution. Other common features are 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, FM radio, WiFi 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 4.0.
